RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

As staff members of the City of Wolverhampton Council we have both a duty and responsibility to help safeguard a child from harm and abuse, irrespective of where we work and what we do.

You must be aware of the course of action to take in order to assist a child whose safety and welfare is of concern. In such circumstances a child is age defined as being less than 18 years of age.

All staff have access to relevant training in order to be able to recognise indicators of harm and abuse and to know how to respond when concern exists. Action taken should be in accordance with local policies and agreed inter-agency arrangements.
