We went across to St Chad’s on Thursday to play in the 7-a-side netball festival against teams from all over Wolverhampton. With the games only being 7 minutes long, we knew we had to take our chances. We were unfortunate to lose our first game against Tettenhall College 1-0, using unfamiliar posts that are higher than we are used to. That said, we improved in our next game against Wodensfield and we managed to win 4-0 with Lexi and Molly finding the net.
We went on to win our next 5 games in a row, including close encounters against St Stephen’s, who had already beaten us in the High 5 league match, and Christ Church, who went on to win the festival.
We went into our last game hoping that a win would be enough to win the trophy. However, a last minute equaliser from the Royal GS meant that the game was drawn 2-2, meaning that we finished with 6 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss, sending us into second place.
In the whole tournament, we scored 16 goals and only conceded 5. A fantastic result and more medals to add to our collection this year!
