Both our teams played in the Tag Rugby City Finals on Monday and we were immensely proud they both had got this far. Both teams played five group games, winning four and losing one. This meant that we had two Fallings Park teams in the semi-finals.
Unfortunately, we were drawn to play each other in the semi-finals. It was a difficult game and our ‘A’ team came out on top 4-2. This meant our ‘B’ team qualified for the third place play-off game against Bhylls Acre. Our team lifted themselves from the disappointment of the semi-final loss to beat Bhylls Acre 2-1 and take home bronze medals for third place.
Our ‘A’ team played the final against Uplands, a team who we had beaten in the previous game. In what was a closely fought game, our team came on the wrong side of a close 2-1 loss to finish with silver medals in second place.
Although our teams were called ‘A’ and ‘B’, in truth, it didn’t show and to have two teams finishing in the medals at a city final shows how brilliant everyone played. We are so proud!
This means, we have qualified another team for the Black Country Games in June, which will be an excellent experience for everyone involved.
